Starting from January 1st 2015, MCT required for international flight transfer of T2 of Capital Airport has been shortened from 120 minutes to 100 minutes, reducing 20 minutes, and the MCT required for domestic flight transfer of T2 of Capital Airport has been shortened from 90 minutes to 60 minutes, reducing 30 minutes. The optimized and updated MCT will be displayed on the Global Distribution and Reservation System and all direct marketing platforms.
About 50 international transfer flights and about 20 domestic transfer flights in T2 of Capital Airport will be added each day.
MCT, Minimum Connection Time, refers to the minimum time required for passenger during their flight transfer. Huge amount of works have to be done for just shortening one minute of MCT. In order to optimize the MCT for current transfer flights, BCIA, after conducting a thorough investigation and analysis on the potential optimization space of MCT for both international and domestic transfer flights, conducted feasibility study on the optimization of MCT, actively worked with ground service agency companies to enhance the language connection efficiency for international transfer flights, and reinforced the communication and coordination with airline companies, to optimize the transfer process nodes, so as to shorten the overall MCT of T2. The optimization of MCT of T2 of Capital Airport is another optimization result after the MCT 10 minutes optimization conducted in T1 of Capital Airport in February 2014, which will assist to further enhance the transfer capacity and hub competitiveness of Capital Airport, and at the same time, provide passengers with more efficient and convenient flight transfer experience.
