In 2014, BCIA has successfully accomplished various significant service support tasks, with the passenger throughput ranking the second place in the world for five consecutive years. In 2014, the hub airport construction has been constantly deepening and upgrading. The first one is the further development of air route network. In the year, BCIA has introduced five airline companies of Tibet, zhejiang, Qingdao, Hawaii, Hebei, and ZheJiang Loong Airlines) and established scheduled flights for these airline companies. Meanwhile, BCIA assisted Dynamic Airways and Аврора to resume their flight operation in the airport. In the year, Capital Airport has newly added 3 international destinations, and intensified the operations of 14 international routes. Data show that, the number of international passengers in 2014 has reached 20.73 million person-times, firstly exceeding 20 million, up by 4.6 % year on year. The second one is the steady progress on the efforts to strive for policy support on Hub construction The 72-hour visa-free transit policy has received good effect, and the 72-hour Visa-free Transit Passengers exceeded 40,000 in the whole year. An attempt has been made on promoting the policy of 24-hour frontier inspection exemption policy, so that international passengers who transfer flights in Capital Airport and who do not leave the certain areas of the Airport could be exempted for handling frontier inspection procedure. These measures further enhance the experience of international passengers who transfer the flights in the airport. Policy on one-stop check-in service program for transfer passengers has made progress. The flights of China Southern Airlines to Amsterdam via Beijing have realized flight transfer with one-stop check-in service in a way of luggage background monitoring, and the international flights of Hainan Airlines from four airports of Guangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Fuzhou to Toronto via Beijing have also formally established one-stop check-in service program. The Minimum Connection Time (MCT) is optimized and reduced. Starting from January 1st, 2015, the MCT of international transfer of T2 of Capital Airport has been reduced to 100 minutes, and the MCT of domestic transfer has been reduced to 60 minutes. The optimized MCT will be displayed on the Global Distribution and Reservation System and all direct marketing platforms. Third one is to actively develop air cargo transportation market.

BCIA has signed an agreement with SF-express to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership between two companies; to open all-cargo flights of ZheJiang Loong Airlines, with Zhenzhen-Hangzhou-Beijing air route; to newly add two international cargo destinations of Yekaterinburg and Khabarovsk. Meanwhile, BCIA has also received Electronic Cargo Operation Qualification Certificate issued by IATA, becoming the first airport passing the IATA certification, which maintains electronic freight normalized operation in Mainland China.

So far, there are 96 airline companies having their regular commercial operations in Capital Airport, including 26 domestic airlines, and 70 airlines from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions, as well as other countries. BCIA has established 111 international destinations from 54 countries and regions, and 133 domestic destinations, and has built a air route network which is distributed all over the world.
