Today is the first working day after Spring Festival holiday. It is estimated that 1,675 flights are served by BCIA during the Spring Festival, with the passenger throughput of 257,100. During the Spring Festival holidays of this year, the overall operation of Capital Airport run smoothly. From February 18 to February 24, BCIA has handled a total of 10,546 flights, up by 6.69% year on year; transported 1.6 million passengers, up by 7.14%. The highest passenger flow occurred at February 24, with the passenger throughput of 274,100 person times, up by 10.74% year on year, which has been the highest peak in passenger flows in BCIA since service support for Spring Festival Travel Rush.
In order to provide better passenger services during the holiday, and by focusing on the theme of “Warm Service on the way back home”, BCIA has been taking active role in making use of multiple means such as broadcast, TV, and new media to educate passenger on civil aviation safety knowledge and quick security inspection prompt message. Meanwhile, BCIA worked with airports of different regions to release weather and flight operation information, so as to assist passenger to make proper travel decisions.
To deal with the sustained peak hours of passenger flow of return passengers, BCIA suggested passengers to choose multiple transportation modes. So far, Capital Airport has established 16 city buses to Fangzhuang, Beijing Railway Station, Gongzhufen, Xidan, Shijingshan, etc, and 7 Inter-provincial buses to Tianjin, Langfang, Qinhuangdao, Tanggu, Baoding, Tangshan, and Cangzhou. Since passengers have to use their ID card to buy the tickets for inter-provincial bus, here we remind passengers to take the ID card with you when you take inter-provincial buses. Meanwhile, BCIA works with related units to increase the frequency of the buses during peak hours, add temporary airport express, and mobilize transport capacity of taxies, so as to provide passengers with convenient and high quality ground transport services. In addition, BCIA has also reinforced its information service and guiding service for passengers at critical process points, and adjusted business hours of airport stores so as to meet the consuming services for passengers at different levels.
